Gentile is a director, acting coach, and artist educator with more than 20 years of experience. Alongside director Jeremiah Zagar, she served as the acting coach on Hustle (starring Adam Sandler and Queen Latifah) for Juancho Hernangomez, Kenny Smith, Boban Marjanovic, Dell Demps, Maria Botto, Anthony Edwards, Julius Erving, and Aihnoa Pillet. This was her second collaboration with Zagar, with whom she worked on the 2018 Sundance NEXT Innovator Award winner, We The Animals, based on the novel by Justin Torres. Gentile was the acting coach for Bloom Li, Zoë Renee, Mardy Ma, Dexter Darden, and Chase Liefeld on the Disney and Hillman Grad Productions film Chang Can Dunk, directed by Jingyi Shao. Most recently, she was the acting coach on the films Shooting Stars (adapted from the 2009 book by LeBron James and Buzz Bissinger), You Are SO Not Invited to My Bat Mitzvah (directed by Sammi Cohen and starring Adam Sandler), Ava DuVernay’s film, Origin, and on Netflix’s Rez Ball, written and directed by Sydney Freeland. While currently working on Brad Ingelsby’s new currently untitled HBO Drama Series, Noëlle facilitated workshops for directors Jeremiah Zagar and Salli Richardson-Whitfield along with actors Mark Ruffalo, Amelia Jones, Silvia Dionicio, Tom Pelphrey and three first time actors.
Noëlle has also worked as an artist-educator for Youth FX; Arts, Letters & Numbers, the NYC Department of Education’s Theatre Program; City College of New York; and Brooklyn College Film School. She is currently an adjunct professor for the Maurice Kanbar Institute of Film and Television at NYU Tisch. Noëlle’s directorial debut, I Was Here, starring Raúl Castillo and Jordana Spiro, which is based on her family’s story, premiered at San Francisco International Film Festival on April 28th, 2024.
